Scena na Piętrze
Scena na Piętrze is a place which is known not only in Wielkopolska region. It is a name of a theatre, but also a venue where various artistic events are held by Estrada Poznańska: performances, concerts, comedy group shows. It is a space known for concerts played within such festivals as Made in Chicago, Nowe Nurty, Open Mic Poznań, as well as many other events.
Scena na Piętrze has its tradition. It has functioned since 1979 within Estrada Poznańska. Initially, it was known as Scena Inicjatyw and it gained fame after the premiere of Stanisław Przybyszewski’s “Snow”. The play featured such theatre stars as Grażyna Barszczewska, Barbara Wrzesińska, Ryszard Barycz and Leszek Teleszyński. It was directed by Marek Wilewski.
Scena Inicjatyw was renamed as Scena na Piętrze at the beginning of the 1980s. It has never had its troupe of actors, however in its 30-year history the greatest Polish actors have performed here, including Magdalena Zawadzka, Anna Seniuk, Grażyna Barszczewska, Beata Tyszkiewicz, Joanna Żółkowska, Hanka Bielicka, Krystyna Janda, Jerzy Stuhr, Jerzy Zelnik, Henryk Machalica, Gustaw Holoubek, Leon Niemczyk and Roman Wilhelmi.
A few years ago, Scena underwent complex modernization and it is developing all the time. We are looking for new solutions and challenges, answering the needs and expectations of our audience and artists.
